I want to help families get a strong start.

The Birthday Boys! Ron & Ronin

Today October 5th is THE #1 day each year on which more babies are born than any other. And I totally believe that statistic.

Today is my first born Ronin’s 5th birthday!
Happy Birthday Little Man!

AND its my brother Ron’s 36th birthday.
Happy Birthday Little Bro!

Today is also the second annual Strong Start Day for Postpartum Progress Inc. non-profit. I want to help more moms, more families get a healthy and strong start, by supporting Postpartum Progress reach even more moms with postpartum depression.

This year, Postpartum Progress’ main goal for reaching new moms is to create offline hard copy materials that mirror what is available online. The non-profit’s founder Katherine Stone says:

“My goal for Strong Start Day 2012 is to raise enough money to allow Postpartum Progress Inc. to translate what we have done online into offline materials. I am asked all the time by nurses, doulas, and physicians’ offices if they can use the words we have created here to help mothers understand what they’re going through and that they can get better. They want our words because they believe we reach moms in a safe and accessible way. They want and need materials from us, materials that I have yet been able to give them because I haven’t had the funding to create them. Not every new mom is online. Plenty don’t have Twitter accounts. They aren’t on Pinterest. We need more ways to reach moms who need help.”

The resources available online at Postpartum Progress are wonderful. I fully support their mission and have made my own donation to Postpartum Progress Inc.  I survived postpartum depression and the wonderful community support and information at Postpartum Progress truly helped me.

Here are 6 kick ass reasons you should support Postpartum Progress!

I’m asking you today to consider making a donation as well. You can do so HERE.

Thank you!!
